Our terms and conditions are designed to ensure transparency for all customers with regards to policies, procedures and conduct.

Code of conduct and standards of practice

As a Registered Nurse I am bound by a code of conduct and standards of practice. As dictated by my governing body APRAH. These can be viewed on the APRAH website https://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Codes-Guidelines-Statements/Codes- Guidelines.aspx

It is also a requirement that I undertake annual continuing professional development to enable me to continue to provide the most up to date, evidence-based practice.

Consultations and guides

Services of the The Mother Hood Project include consultations with families and the provision of written material as our ‘guides’. Through these services we endeavour to provide only the most up to date, evidence-based information and care. Each and every consultation will be tailored to the clients' specific needs.

Information in the written guides is of a general nature and does not take the place of professional or medical advice. There is no right or wrong when it comes to what works for you and your family, so please remember to adapt advice to your needs accordingly. Always follow the advice of your doctor or maternal and child health nurse with regard to specific health-related issues for your child and consult a medical professional with any concerns you may have.

We do not provide any guarantees and assume no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, currency or completeness of the information. You should obtain advice relevant to your particular circumstances from a health professional.

Qualifications and registrations

Professional registrations (Registered Nurse) are up to date and current. Qualifications specified (Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing, Diploma of Health Sciences, Masters of Nursing, with relevant Continuing Professional Development Courses in Sleep, Settling and breastfeeding) have been successfully completed within Australia.

Furthermore Working with Children's Check and Police Checks are Current and can be provided on request.

Cancellations, refund policy, alternate appointment times and returns

The Mother Hood Project does not offer a change of mind refund or exchange on our products and services. Due to the nature of the work and the unpredictable nature of newborns we understand that the unexpected can happen, so rescheduling of appointment times will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We will do our best to find an alternative dates and times for you in this instance. If for any reason a face to face session is not possible, or at the client's preference, consultations can be provided where appropriate via zoom at no altered cost.

Consultation cancellation or rescheduling

The Mother Hood Project reserves the right to cancel or arrange alternative date or times for consultations. Under these circumstances, we will endeavour to provide notice of the cancellation and will arrange an alternative time for consultations.

 

Shipping

Whilst majority of products are exchanged electronically, the purchase of gift vouchers as physical gift card will come with free postage within Australia. International shipping will come with a small associated cost as per Australia post. Items will be posted next working day via standard post.

 

Consultation bookings

With regard to phone consultations these will be made for a specific time and date. With regard to home visits date will be confirmed but only an approximate time will be booked in. Consultation times will be confirmed based on babies routine, as we endeavour to be present (dependent on need) for baby's feed, awake time and then to help settle them to sleep.

Payment

Clients will be invoiced for services required. Full payment is required at the time of booking. This will be via electronic bank transfer. Once payment has been received clients will receive electronic guides associated via email.

Preventing the spread of disease and COVID-19

The safety and well-being of clients is our priority. Especially due to the nature of working with small babies. We are fully vaccinated, not just for COVID-19 but for all scheduled immunisations, including up to date Pertussis (whooping cough). I will be actively monitoring the coronavirus situation and recommendations to take steps to help keep the community safe. Therefore it is recommended for this time masks be worn throughout consultations where able, when social distancing is not possible.

Confidentiality and privacy policy
The Mother Hood Project is committed to maintaining privacy and confidentiality when managing your personal information. In alignment of my ethical obligation as a Nurse l will hold information about you in confidence, unless the release of said information is needed by law, legally justifiable under public interest considerations or is required to facilitate emergency care.

Access to your personal information

We recognise people’s right to access their own information contained in our records and can facilitate access when requested. We may require identification from you before releasing the requested information. You will also receive a written consultation summary following all consults.

Security of personal information

Your personal information is stored in a password protected database, to ensure no unauthorised access is gained. When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will destroy or permanently de-identify it. However, most of the information will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.

Social media policy

Why use of social media is a large part of our marketing and exposure, used frequently as a platform for education. The Mother Hood Project abides by the NMBA Social media policy and standards for practice. We shall not transmit, share, reproduce or post any person’s information or images, even if the person is not directly named or identified, without having first gained written and informed consent.
